- Aqueduto das Águas Livres - [+]
Classified as a National Monument, it's one of the most extense water supplying systems in the world, reaching 58 kms; its name comes from the fact that waters run only due to the force of gravity, which is to say freely.
- Ascensores - [+]
In 1882, Lisbon's Companhia dos Ascensores Mecânicos (literally meaning mechanical elevators company) was created to take care of the recurring difficulties that occurred when it was necessary to climb up to the seven hills.
- Bowling Internacional de Lisboa - [+]
The biggest and most modern bowling alley in Portugal, and one of the biggest in Europe. The BIL has already served as the stage for the AMF Bowling World Cup. The course, which is composed of 30 stages, is complemented by a bar, a play area and a restaurant.
- Casa do Fado e da Guitarra Portuguesa - [+]
Fado's history, the places where the song of Lisbon was long sung, the instruments and various documents. Inside the Auditory, live performances can be heard.
- Castelo de São Jorge - [+]
Built upon a visigotic stronghold, which was constructed upon pre-roman leftovers, it was transformed into an alcazaba by the Arabians in order to group the population and the most important buildings. There used to be a wall there (the Cerca Moura), which would extend into the river.
- Elevador de Santa Justa - [+]
The Elevador de Santa Justa (meaning elevator of Santa Justa) was built to ease the circulation of both people and goods between Rossio and Largo do Carmo. Today it's a source of curiosity for turists who visit Lisbon, due to a view that allows for panoramic photos of the Baixa Pombalina.
- Expo 98 - [+]
Lisbon projects itself through the next millenium with Expo 98, which was the engine for this atlantic capital's definite metropolitan start. The Expo includes, among other things, the Pavilhão de Portugal (Atlantic Pavillion) from Álvaro Siza, Conhecimento dos Mares from João Luís Carrilho da Graça, the Lisbon Oceanarium from Peter Chermayeff, and the Pavilhão da Utopia from S.O.M.
- Jardim Zoológico de Lisboa - [+]
At the centre of the city of Lisbon, the Zoo has been an important space that has been joining education with a strong component of entertainment for over 120 years.
- Mosteiro dos Jerónimos - [+]
Declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO, the Mosteiro de Santa Maria de Belém was built in the 16th Century to home the friars of the Ordem de São Jerónimo. Inside the church lie Vasco da Gama and Luís Vaz de Camões' graves, and those from Fernando Pessoa and Alexandre Herculano are located in the cloisters.

The distribution and articulation of the permanent exposition galleries are oriented in a geographical and chronological sistemization, which determined two independent circuits.
- Museu Nacional do Traje e da Moda - [+]
The evolution of clothing in time, sowing and stamping techniques, temporary expositions. This collection, provided by the Museu Nacional dos Coches, was initially composed of seven thousand clothing parts and accessories. A great number of those belonged to the royal house.
- Museu Nacional dos Coches - [+]
The most important of the world collections of carriages, formed by vehicles from the Portuguese Gala da Casa Real. These date from the 17th to the 19th century. Included here are bridles and outfits, with special mention of the three cars used at the embassy by the pope Clement XI.
- Oceanário de Lisboa - [+]
One of the most emblematic elements of the Expo '98 is the Lisbon Oceanarium, designed by Peter Chermayeff, and it's a very important element of daylight attraction. This big artefact of nautical ressonance is composed by a central tank that homes various sea creatures, of which the remaining exposition areas focus on.
- Padrão dos Descobrimentos - [+]
Inaugurated in 1960, the current building (constructed with concrete and marble sculptures), is a replica of the original building, which was built with materials for the Exposição do Mundo Português in 1940, by the architects Cottinelli Telmo and Leopoldo de Almeida.
- Planetário Calouste Gulbenkian - [+]
Founded in 1965 and integrated in the Museu da Marinha, the Calouste Gulbenkian Planetarium, located beside the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, exibits a valuable collection of objectos related to the history of astronomy.
- Ponte Vasco da Gama - [+]
The organization of the last world fair of the millenium allowed for an impulse of the urban transformation of Lisbon through large infrastructures, such as the Vasco da Gama Bridge. The candidature for the celebration of the Portuguese capital city's Expo was accompanied by what can be referred to as a «peripheric and aquatic» option for its location. Two alternate choices were proposed: the eastern and western sides of the more modern part of the city.
- Teleférico do Parque das Nações - [+]
One of the best ways to enjoy the dazzling view of Parque das Nações and the river Tagus, along a course of over one thousand metres.
- Torre de Belém - [+]
Declared Patrimony of Humanity by UNESCO, it is one of the most beautiful military constructions in history. Built as a bastion to ensure the defense of Tagus' entry, it was intended to have an identical fortress on the other side of the river, but it was never actually built.
- Torre Vasco da Gama - [+]
An elevator transports the visitors to a wonderful sight of the city of Lisbon and river Tagus, at 140 metres of height.
